CERIALE – MOUNT ACUTO

Here we are again with Giacomo Dodino for another adventure along the MTB trails of Liguria. For the sixth episode of LiguriaBikeXperience we go to Ceriale.
In this chapter Giacomo has climbed an E-Bike for the first time since the project started and we will soon discover why. Through a single track we go from the top of the “Poggio Grande”, where the “Monte Croce” sanctuary is located, to the sea.
Let’s start this new mtb experience.

THE TOUR OF MOUNT ACUTO

The Tour of Mount Acuto, Ceriale

Giacomo has chosen the E-Bike because it is the best way to tackle an exploratory tour.
We leave in the early morning from Ceriale and then we cross the “Capo of Borghetto” and we reach the medieval village of Toirano. Here we start to climb to get to the top of the “Poggio Grande” where the “Mount Croce” sanctuary is located. The climb has a constant slope, but it is never too steep and, in many places, we can enjoy a breathtaking Seaview.
About halfway there is the village of Balestrino, where we take a break for a coffee. After the village the landscape becomes more mountainous and, in a few kilometers, we get to the Sanctuary located right on the top of the mountain, at 813 meters above sea level. From here the path starts, a completely natural 10 kilometers long single track, all in the ridge and always with sea view landscape that leads to the coast of Ceriale. Basically 800 meters of difference in level in a single trail, along a ridge that connects “Poggio Grande” mount to “Acuto” mount and then descends down to “Capo of Borghetto” and then to the sea.
It is truly a unique experience to live on your bike or E-bike!
